FOR ONE EVENING
Public intervention developed with and for a local community during a residency in Drobeta Turnu-Severin · 2025
For One Evening is a public intervention developed during a residency in Drobeta Turnu-Severin, on the grounds of an abandoned shipyard located directly along the Danube. Although the river defines the city’s geography, this area is normally closed to the public and inaccessible to residents. Using discarded materials found on site, a large table was built and placed in the open yard, and for one evening the shipyard was opened to everyone.
The table hosted a communal dinner and a collective mapping workshop, allowing people to gather, share stories, and symbolically reclaim a space that had long been removed from public life. Rather than producing a finished object, the project created a temporary moment of shared presence, suggesting how the shipyard could once again become part of the city.
